Tryout evaluation
An Operator can create a perfect record of each pitcher's results. Watch from behind the plate or behind the mound. Correct any pitch locations on the spot. Swap pitchers. Share each pitcher's performance heatmap report with coaches, league staff, players, or their parents.
Game-day stat tracking
An Operator can set up outside the fence if the backstop is close enough (softball 25 feet or closer, baseball 20 feet or closer) and capture pitch location data. Command Center is an automated way to keep pitch count, and comes with pitch location data useful for coaches. The Operator can pause tracking during warmups, delete errant “pitches” (like a play at the plate), and add any pitch the app didn't pick up. This does require a vigilant Operator, but it's the most automated tool on the market in its price range.
Supporting a developing umpire
For leagues that approve umpire usage, a single earbud can deliver real-time calls to the umpire behind the plate, or allow them to call the game from the mound. Umpires are fully in charge, and can choose to agree with HeyBLU or overrule it when only they hear the call. We recommend HeyBLU begins as an umpire strike zone training tool first. Test your eye vs. HeyBLU's calls. If or when a league authorizes game use, HeyBLU is effectively a live-game trainer, helping umpires learn the zone better and faster than ever before.
